Elysia was an active pup whose energetic nature proved to be too for her first human to manage. She was abandoned, along with her littermates and mother, at the nearest shelter. It was there that she saw her mother start to deteriorate. Some kind of health complication made the shelter staff decide that it was necessary to euthanize her. Elysia, barely six months old, watched as her loved one was led down a flickering hallway never to return. Comforted by the first-born brother, Elysia and her other siblings tried their best to give the visiting humans what they wanted - attention, affection, companionship, love - but many humans only stopped to play and did not see fit to take the pups home. Worse than that, when one human did finally decide to adopt, Elysia was not chosen to go with her brother. Shortly after that, another pup from the litter was chosen. And then another, and another, until Elysia was left alone. Her whole family was gone... until a young man and his grandpa walked in the door. The man, named Oliver, wanted a companion for his aging grandpa and Elysia - her spirit broken by this point - could barely manage to sit up to greet them. For whatever reason, Oliver chose her and she went home to Oliver's and his grandfather's house. Suffering from so many losses, Elysia took some time to repair her crushed spirit, but she never truly became that happy-go-lucky pup she had been before the shelter. She's a subdued soul, now. But Oliver and his grandpa seem to think that's perfectly fine for them. She enjoys loving pets from the grandpa, and taking patient walks around the neighborhood. Her favorite thing is sleeping alongside Oliver in his bed and waking early in the morning to keep Grandpa company while he makes his morning coffee. She also gets to go outside regularly to play with her friends and neighbors - Riley and Marci. Elysia is also privately scheming a way to make Oliver and Marci's human - Lacey - fall in love. |
